Booking system introduced at North Somerset Recycling Centres

From the 2 February 2026, all visitors at our Weston-super-Mare Household Waste and Recycling Centre must book a 15 minute time slot in advance. The booking system has been introduced to help reduce queues and increase efficiency following the footsteps of many other local authorities in the United Kingdom.

The easiest way to book is online through North Somerset Council’s website, people without internet access can book through the council’s automated phone line. Bookings can also be made in behalf of another resident, such as an elderly relative or someone without access to the internet. Backwell and Portishead Household Waste and Recycling Centres will also have a booking system which will come into effect on 2 March 2026.
