The Monkey Tree Charity and Weston Hospice Care Visits
The very best of luck to our North Somerset Environment team on Sunday 19 October who are taking on the Weston Super Half Marathon, raising funds for two incredible local causes, Weston Hospice Care and The Monkey Tree Charity.
We’re so proud of our colleagues for going the distance, not just on race day, but in their dedication to supporting the communities we serve every day. Their training, teamwork, and dedication truly embody the NSEC spirit.
On their journey to the start line, our team hosted the Monkey Tree Charity at our Westlands Depot, the team told us all about the fantastic work they do in the local community to provide free on loan wheelchair hire to children and young adults who are battling terminal / life limiting illnesses. Our team also went down the road to visit our local neighbours at Weston Hospice Care and had a site tour of their outstanding facilities, from which they provide palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses and making sure them and their families have all the support they need. Thank you to both charities for taking time out of your schedules to share your stories with our team, they’ll carry them through the 13.1 mile course.
If you’d like to show your support, you can donate via our JustGiving page, our donation target has already been smashed by incredible generosity, but we’d like to maximise what we can give back to these fantastic charities. Every little really does help.
Wishing our whole team the very best of luck, we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
